Julia Ruth began her Cyr Wheel training in early 2015 with Sam Tribble at the San Diego Circus Center, where she also received instruction from Daniel Cyr and Courtney Giannone. Since the summer of 2019, she has traveled to Montréal for some time to train with Éric Deschênes. She accepted an artistic residency with Tohu to develop her newest Cyr Wheel act at École Nationale de Cirque. Julia was initially attracted to the discipline because of how well the movement of Cyr Wheel demonstrates the laws of physics.
